In case you missed it, wordpress.org got hacked. This is the final straw for me. I’ve been growing more and more dissatisifed with wordpress so I think it is time to move on to another blog package.
Previously, I used Movable Type. Wordpress was a significant upgrade. But I don’t enjoy hacking PHP much and frankly, wordpress has gotten fat. I’ll take a look at Typo and maybe blosxom again. Or maybe I’ll spend a weekend and write my own minimal Rails blog package.
Anyone else have a good suggestion?

I’ve been using typo for the last month or so, but I can’t say I’d recommend it. Simple things like hyperlinks and embedded images are harder than they should be, and the whole thing has gotten wedged and needed restarting several times during this period (Wordpress ran forever without a hitch).
Let me know if you find something better.

Opensource scripts are down is free time of the developers and we cant ecpect the best from them. But Wordpress is the best no matter what. All you need is a little bit of coding knowledge to super customize it.
DONT do the mistake of changing wordpress.
Good luck.
