It’s Never Over Til It’s Over

Tonight’s playoff game with Seattle beating Dallas 21-20 has to go down as one of the wildest playoff games ever. I can’t believe how it finished. But I couldn’t be happier. The Hawks somehow managed to fight through an injury plagued season where they didn’t live up to expectations and win a playoff game. The Bears would appear to be the likely opponent next week and no longer look invincible. So maybe a return to the NFC championship isn’t out of the question.

It was especially nice to see Dallas blow it the way they did. I hate Parcells. I hate Owens. Romo is overrated and Bledsoe got a raw deal. And the only team in all of sports I hate more than the Cowboys is the New York Yankees. All in all, a good day.

Oh, man. What a finish. I still can’t believe they missed a field goal that was shorter than an extra point. Think Romo’s hands were sweaty? Two other crazy plays also come to mind: the favorable spot after the replay to take away a game-ending first down and the weird safety.

Wait, Jeramy Stevens was a player of the game? He didn’t drop five passes?

Stevens showed why no one will ever give up on him. When he is going well, he is unstoppable. The problem is that he isn’t going well consistently enough.

I thought the defense was the player of the game. They did their job and then some.
