MacBook Pro Adventures

I got a new MacBook Pro about 2 weeks ago. I have been meaning to post about it but I ran into a problem. It apparently had a hardware issue that was preventing it from properly waking from sleep. So within a week of getting it, I had to send it back. Apple support was great. First, they wanted to fix it with a new “logic board” (is that a new term for motherboard?). Luckily, they realized that was silly since I was in the return window and opted to send me a new machine. The replacement shipped last night from Shanghai China, went to Alaska, and is now on its way to Seattle. Should have it in my hands by Friday (and hopefully it stays this time).

My short time with the first unit was very nice other than the sleep issue. Performance was amazing and Parallels is an impressive VM package. Using it was similar to my old G4 Powerbook but much more refined. I’m looking forward to a longer experience with the new machine.

Don’t they have a PC term for motherboards yet? Something like parentboard?
