Sony has made an interesting announcement at GDC. They are planning to offer games via downloads. It also looks like PSP could use the same system. I think this is a natural evolution. Buying games, music, movies on media like DVD or CD will likely become a thing of the past. I thought Xbox should have done something like this as well but they decide to decrease the emphasis on the hard drive. For Sony’s solution, I’m betting they do something like Steam does with on demand downloading. I hope they will allow for either limited play or demos in the same way.
