I forgot to mention what was probably the highlight of my day yesterday — I attended an open session with Jordan Hubbard of Apple. He is a really nice guy. I asked him several questions on Darwinports and Xcode support for scripting languages like Python and Ruby. He said Darwinports would remain separate mostly because it is not robust enough for your average user. It’s fine as a developer tool but there are too many rough spots. I think there are some financial considerations as well as they would need significantly more server bandwidth if everyone started using Darwinports. I suggested that they at least get it on the Xcode cd. I know it is one of the first things I help people get setup.
